Beckwithshaw Saints Junior Football Club is a Harrogate based club, which exists to provide a safe and fun environment for children of all ages from Harrogate and surrounding villages to learn and participate in football. Our 'home' ground is Beckwithshaw Cricket Ground, with additional facilities at Beckwithshaw Village Hall and Harrogate College.
Training is held for all age groups, on a Saturday morning, on the Stray, on Stray Rein from 9:30am.
Founded in 2004, the club is run on a completely voluntary basis by many enthusiastic parents, who all give their valuable time, to make the club a success. Our core values are to ensure that the social aspects of team sport are highlighted as much as the technical elements of football and that children see football as an all inclusive game.
We have an established infrastructure in place to ensure continuity through all age groups, each age group being representated in the local football leagues from Under-8 through to Under-14 inclusive. Some of the age groups also have Development Squads, to assist in developing basic techniques, and confidence in playing football.
Our youngest age group, Under 7's, provides for many children, that first taste of football, before graduating to the Under-8’s.
Furthermore, we have a strong relationship with the Beckwithshaw Saints adult team, with the long term goal that this will provide a natural progression for our junior players, as they move into open age football.
All age groups are run by qualified FA Coaches who have attended and passed the appropriate FA Qualification requirements. This includes not just coaching but also First Aid and Child Protection courses. All coaches and referees we provide have been rigorously checked by the club and have successfully gone through the CRB process by the FA.
Additionally, the club has a Code of Conduct, that anyone connected with the club – players, parents, coaches and officials are required to adhere to at all times.
